The winery tour was interesting and we descended three levels of cellars to see thousands of bottles of wine. Actually, it may have been millions - one does tend to lose track. Our guide today was Nuria, another wonderful guide from Made for Spain.
Montserrat is an ancient monastery, much of which was destroyed and rebuilt in more modern times. We had the pleasure of hearing the boys' choir sing and having much of the iconography and religious symbolism explained to us in the main chapel.

Upon returning to Barcelona Nuria took us to the finest fabric store in Barcelona. Unfortunately, these were high end fabrics for dressmaking (silks, satins, etc.) and not quilting fabrics. This store recommended a different store, but it turned out to be a storehouse, not a store. Exhausted, we called off the hunt and returned to the hotel - but the wild goose chase was fun!
For dinner we tried a Tapas bar recommended by Nuria and had great fun negotiating the menu. Imagine a menu where the primary foods are shellfish, squid, and pepper. We did find some wonderful cheese dishes and grilled mushrooms and anchovies (not together).
Tomorrow we are off to Madrid.
