Had a 5 .5 hour layover in Philly for the flight to Barcelona. Everything appears to be on time and we should be boarding soon. There are few electrical outlets in this old part of the airport and I can't recharge the IPad. Had actually found one outlet, but someone is monopolizing it right now. So I'm trying to save the battery in case I don't sleep on the plane. So far in the reading I've done at the airport I've figured out that Moses ben Maimon is Maimonides and Moses ben Nachman is Nachmanides. Nachmanides was born about 60 years after Maimonides in Girona -one of the cities we are visiting at the end of this week with a private guide. It has the oldest (still standing) synagogue in Spain. Maimonides was born in Spain, but after a series of "pogroms" his family fled to Fez, Morocco. From there they went to Egypt. Nachmanides, on the other hand, lived his whole life in Spain. I guess I did learn something during this layover.
Hoping to board momentarily.
Marcia
